What advice would you give to a new student who will start IIEP in the summer?

What advice would I give to a new student who will start IIEP in the summer is that "You should attend every class in every day." I think attendance is very important. In addition, I think that attendance represent sincerity. If you are not present at class, you will miss course in that day, so you may not be able to understand lecture on next day. If you attend class and do your best, you will improve your English ability gradually. Therefore, I would like to advise new student, who will start IIEP in the summer, to attend every class faithfully.

What would you like to get for your next birthday?

I would like to get *somebody's time in my birthday*. When I get something for my birthday, I actually feel so good. However, the best present is somebody's time. Even though I can not get anything, if somebody spends my birthday with me, I will be happy. If somebody is especially busy, I will appreciate more and more, because I will be impressed by somebody who makes an effort for my good memory. I can get somethings, which I usually want, at any time, but I can not buy the time and can not bring back that time. In conclusion, I would like to spend my next birthday making unforgettable memories, with person who I like. -

The Best Invention In My Lifetime...

I think that the best invention in my lifetime is 'Computer'. I can't imagine my life without computer. I usually do computer for 7~8 hours per one day. Computer offers us many comfortable things. First, computer offers us internet. We can connect with global people through internet and find a lot of informations. Second, computer offers us games. We can enjoy games through computer, so we can spend leisure time interesting with computer. Finally, computer offers us many programs as C language, java, etc. These programs contributed industrialization greatly, so our life became more comfortable. In conclution, I think computer has an enormous effect on our life.

If a friend were coming to visit Iowa City.....

If a friend were coming to visit Iowa City, I will recommend her to visit 'University of Iowa'. I Actually don't know where are famous places in Iowa City yet. However, I heard that 'U of I' take up much space in Iowa. In addition, I think 'U of I' is the most famous place in Iowa. I have visited a lot of university in Korea, but I think 'U of I' is very wide school. Also, 'U of I' has everything that we need. I was so surprised, because there is even 'bar' in university. Anyway, If my friend were coming to visit Iowa City, first of all, I will do campus tour with my friend.

Where is the best place I have visited in the US and why?

I went to Chicago in this spring break with Jiyeon. We went to 'John hancock tower' in order to see night view. We went on 94th floor of John hancock tower, and we were looking forward to the night. As soon as night came, we were filled with admiration. Night view of Chicago was so nice! When I look at the night view, I felt refreshed. I ordinarily like the light of the city, but night view of Chicago could not be prepared with any of them. In conclusion, I think that 'John hancock tower' is the best place I have visited in the US.

my favorite movie genre :)

I like to watch movies which is all of genre. However, my faviorite genre is especially 'comedy'. For example, there are 'She's the man', 'Click', 'White chicks', and so on. I especially saw 'Click' more interesting than other movies. This movie tells a story of a husband who has a special remote control, which has the ability to rewind, pause and fast forward a person's life. The reason I like this movie is because the story is good and fun and at the same time touching. In addition, I love a story with a happy ending. When the movie finishes happily, I feel so happy. Anyway, I have not watch movies in cinema since I came here. I want to watch movie, which is comedy, in cinema.

What is the best advice I have ever received?

My father always gives me good advice. The best advice I have ever received from my father is "Have a positive mind and try to smile all the time!" I hear this advice from my father constantly. So, I make an effort for having positive mind, and I like to look at things more positively rather than negatively. I think positive mind and smile are essential to our life. I'm sure that this attitude would cause good influence on self development. Also, trying to smile all the time helps for having good thinking. I appreciate my father, who always gives good advice for me. Now and forever I'll strive for having positive mind and bright smile. :)

I don't like to be famous.

I don't like to be famous. If I come to fame, people would be concerned about me. However, I don't like to interfere private life by many people. If I come to fame, I would get wealth and honor. On the other hand, I will lose many things. I will not feel a big happiness which is gotten in my trivial daily life by valuable person. Also, I don't like that I will have to move to way, which person want, without my opinion. For these reasons, I would like to live uneventfully. :)

When I have a problem ... ^^

When I have a problem, I always talk to my boyfriend and close friends who can understand me sincerely. My boyfriend and close friends, who can understand me, have been understanding for me kindly even if I have a big problem. And then they have been advising for me. After I talk with them, I feel better. So, I always appreciate kindness of them. Sometimes, I talk to my parents, too. But after I talk my parents, they too much worried about me. So, I rarely talk to my parents recently. I have been received other's help as yet. Also, I will make an affort to hear say of people who have a problem.

about my favorite book

I want to tell you about 'Consideration' which is one of my favorite books. This is a Korean novel. We always get along with people and of course make competitors. This book's author wrote that every competitors, who exist near to me, are my companions, who are not obstacles. I like this book because I got a fact that if I help the person, I'll get more valuable thing. I think that the word, which is 'consideration', is very good word. Every people said, modern people are very cold-hearted and heartless. I think that the way of escape from heartless is 'to have mind and attitude which is concerned about others'.

Hi. My name is Michelle and I'm from Korea. I'm 21 years old and I was born at 09/21/1986. My family is father, mather, elder sister and benny(my dog). I came the U.S for studying English and I came Iowa city because my aunt recommended me Iowa intensive english program. So, I'm really excited to join this program. I like watching movie, listening to music, going shopping, eating delicious foods and having coffee. Moreover I like listening other's talk. I'm ready for opening my mind. I cannot English well now, but I always believe that if I try my best, I'll accomplish anything. I hope that everybody in here will have good time, good memories. Nice to meet you in this class.
